The Swiss Preflight: Twelve Checks Before Silence

Our checklist is not superstition. It is the difference between a launch and an incident report.

The Swiss Preflight: Twelve Checks Before Silence
Every AlpineSky pilot runs the same twelve-point sequence before releasing the brake toggles. Harness, carabiners, reserve pin, risers, lines, wing, wind, airspace, radio, weight shift, brakes, mental state. The order never changes. The tempo never rushes. On the ridge above Zermatt, altitude forgives nothing and rewards preparation. We teach the check as a physical rhythm rather than a mental list — the hand touches each buckle, the eyes trace each line, the voice confirms out loud. Muscle memory built over hundreds of repetitions is what keeps the discipline intact when weather turns or a student hesitates. Precision is not decoration; it is oxygen.
